The project "Development of a natural soap from saponaria species" (Acronym NatCySoap, ENTERPRISES/0618/0176) is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation under the RESTART 2016-2020 programs. The main objective of the project is the extraction of natural saponins from the Saponaria plants grown in Cyprus and its use for the development of a natural soap.
The project started on the 1st of April 2019 and will be completed on the 31st March 2021.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the subsequent restrictions imposed, including the general lockdown, during the first six months of 2020, the project has been granted a six-month extension (new end date: 22/08/2021).
